City Administrator: Pam J. Burton
Pam Burton has served as Athens City Administrator since May 1995. She has worked for the City of Athens since August 1978, serving as Deputy Tax Assessor/Collector, Administrative Secretary and City Secretary.
Department Purpose:
The City Administrator's office is responsible for administering the programs established by the City Council. This office directs and coordinates the daily operations of all City departments and informs and advises the City Council regarding transactions and issues, including existing conditions and future requirements.
Departmental Objectives:
♦ To coordinate Council activities.
♦ To supervise staff in such a way as to provide the most efficient and effective municipal services
to the citizens.
♦ To provide Council with timely and sufficient information.
♦ To initiate innovative approaches to problems.
♦ To maintain a long-range outlook and provide Council with recommendations for the future.
♦ To assist citizens with problems and to satisfy complaints.
